CreditSights’ Global Head of Strategy, Winnie Cisar, will host a discussion with Lee Smith, leader of Baker Donelson’s International Trade and National Security practice, and CreditSights’ European Credit Strategist, Tomas Hirst.

They will cover the status of current global sanctions against Russia, how those sanctions are impacting supply chains, and how policy makers may be thinking about the evolution of sanctions in the coming days and weeks.

Winnie Cisar
Global Head of Strategy

Winnie is the Global Head of Strategy at CreditSights. Prior to joining CreditSights, Winnie was a Managing Director and the Head of Credit Strategy for Wells Fargo, leading the research teams focused on the corporate investment grade and leveraged finance markets. At Wells Fargo, Winnie developed the leveraged finance strategy product, rolling out coverage on high yield, leveraged loans and the distressed market. With more than 10 years of experience in institutional research, Winnie has emerged as one of the leading voices in corporate credit strategy and is a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg, NPR and Yahoo Finance. Winnie began her career in investment banking, covering energy and power companies. She also spent time in high yield research, focused on health care, and high yield trading.

Tomas Hirst
European Credit Strategist

Tomas joined CreditSights in 2016 as an analyst on the European strategy team, focusing on euro and sterling credit. Prior to joining the firm, Tomas worked as global homepage editor at Bloomberg and before that as a commissioning editor at The World Economic Forum. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Oxford.

Lee Smith

Of Counsel – Leader of Baker Donelson’s International Trade and National Security Practice

Lee Smith, leader of Baker Donelson’s International Trade and National Security practice, advises clients on matters involving export controls, customs compliance, trade remedy investigations, trade policy, market access, and free trade agreement interpretation. Mr. Smith has over 17 years of experience handling international trade and national security matters both in private practice and in Government leadership positions. Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Mr. Smith served as the Acting Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement in the Bureau of Industry and Security where he implemented and enforced U.S. national security regulations and policy related to dual-use commodities and technology controlled by the Commerce Department. Prior to that position, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Negotiations in the International Trade Administration’s Enforcement & Compliance unit where he managed the Commerce Department’s policy decisions in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations, led and participated in a variety of negotiations, and led the Commerce team in multilateral engagement on steel issues.
