Speakers:
Jane is a dual-qualified solicitor with more than 15 years of experience in the European leveraged finance market, having worked on leveraged finance documentation through multiple credit cycles, including on the first "cov-lite” loan in Europe. Jane practised law at Dentons and Lovells, and as an in-house lawyer at Credit Mutuel - CIC specialising in European syndicated loans and direct lending. Before joining Covenant Review in 2015 to build its European research products, Jane was Head of Legal at DebtXplained, building both their loan and high yield bond platforms. Jane now serves as the Head of European Research, covering the high yield bond and leveraged loan markets in Europe, and providing covenant analysis to the investor community on the largest top-tier sponsor deals coming to market. She represents Covenant Review on the Board of the High Yield Division of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe and as a member of the Loan Market Association.
Helen joined Creditsights as Senior European High Yield Analyst with a focus on European Retail and Consumer in January 2017; she is now Head of European Special Situations. Helen has over twenty years of experience in the European credit markets. She was part of Merrill Lynch's ground-breaking sell side research team which kicked off the European High Yield market with the first European High Yield bond in 1997. In 2000, Helen moved to Deutsche Bank to set up and run the High Yield research team. Since then Helen has been a desk analyst for High Yield and Distressed bonds and loans back at Merrill Lynch and also at BNP Paribas and CRT Capital. She worked on the LBO team in Bankers Trust Madrid and JP Morgan London. She read Modern History at Oxford University and has an MBA from IESE in Barcelona.
Kirsten attended Duke University and Harvard Law School before starting her career in New York at Cahill Gordon. She has experience in a wide variety of capital markets transactions, particularly with respect to 144A / Reg S high yield debt financings, along with private placements and equity issuances. Before joining Covenant Review, Kirsten was a European high yield specialist in the London offices of Cahill Gordon and Weil, and also spent a year in the U.S. as a REITs specialist at Alston & Bird. Kirsten joined Covenant Review in 2019.
Lauren A. Holland is a Research Analyst on the Basic Industries team covering Paper and Packaging. An experienced fundamental credit analyst, Ms. Holland began her finance career in 2001 at Lehman Brothers in High Yield Research covering various sectors, including Chemicals, Industrials, Manufacturing, and Automotive, serving as an integral member of Institutional Investor-ranked teams. In 2004, she joined Citigroup where she was a Credit Sector Specialist, covering Gaming, Lodging, and Leisure. During this time, she was closely involved with the trading desk, providing actionable ideas to clients, as well as integral in maintaining relationships with issuer management teams and key investor accounts. Ms. Holland then transitioned to Raeburn Advisers, a macro hedge fund, where she was a junior portfolio manager with direct responsibility for a number of sectors, including Gaming & Lodging, Media, Telecom, Consumer, Retail, and Aerospace/Defense. Lauren also served co-head of Fixed Income at BOE Securities, where her responsibilities included sales, trading, marketing, and development of custom credit research products for investors. Prior to joining CreditSights, Ms. Holland was a Director and Senior Credit Analyst with Emblask LP, a hedge fund focused on alternative investments in credit. Prior to her career in finance, Lauren was an engineer with BASF and DuPont where she specialized in control systems, process optimization, and production. Lauren holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from The University of Oklahoma (1996) and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Entrepreneurship (2001) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
